The Ministry of Jobs, Economy, and Northern Development has an exciting opportunity and is looking for a Program Officer to join our team

The Economic Development and Business Supports (EDBS) Division is focused on driving the Ministry's economic development agenda through policies, strategies, and programs that help to create jobs and diversify Alberta's economy. The Regional and Northern Economic Development (RNED) Branch is responsible for supporting regional economic development by providing tailored services across the province; conducting research analysis and policy advice to stimulate economic development across Alberta's regions; designing and delivering northern development programs such as the NADC bursaries; and providing agency governance and secretariat support to the Northern Alberta Development Council (NADC).

Reporting to the Director, Northern Development Supports, the Program Officer contributes to the effective delivery of northern development programs within JEND and provides secretariat support services to the NADC, a public agency within the department's portfolio. Primary responsibilities include undertaking research and information requests in relation to the performance of the NADC bursaries and assessing new developments that may impact the Unit.

This role is a key information liaison between the program, applicants, recipients, sponsors, post-secondary institutes, partner Ministries and the general public. In this role, the Program Officer works closely with the Bursary Coordinator to facilitate integrated services to students. All responsibilities are performed within existing program and operational policy, program requirements and guidelines, and direction provided by the Director.

**Qualifications**:
Minimum Recruitment Standard: University graduation in a related field; no experience required; or equivalent as described below.

Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.

**Salary**:
$2,310.48- $3,030.81 biweekly ($60,303.53 - $79,104.14/ year)

**Notes**:
This is a permanent full-time position working 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
