**Position Summary**:
The Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the efficient operations of the Liberal Studies area within Continuing Education.

**Key responsibilities**:
- Verifies accuracy of and maintains and updates electronic files of current course outlines and ensures they are equivalent to full-time outlines where necessary.
- Reviews course and program certificate descriptions for accuracy.
- Identifies and recruits potential instructors and participates in the hiring selection process.
- Monitors expenditures and invoices for selected departmental accounts using pre-established guidelines.
- Cancels, adds, or amends classes based on enrolment, changes to schedules.
- Reviews, edits and changes course and program information and website content to ensure accuracy and currency.
- Maintains regular communications with industry partners and accrediting organizations to ensure that courses which lead to designations are current (i.e., I4PL, Editors Canada).
- Advises instructors on College and departmental policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Educational and Experience Requirements**:

- Three-year diploma or degree in the field relevant to program area (i.e., Liberal Studies) is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience working in an educational or relevant industry setting with specific experience in adult education preferred.
- Experience using a variety of computer software packages such as MS Office and Student Information System databases (SIS).

**Skills and Attributes**:

- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to establish priorities and make decisions within prescribed boundaries.
- Solid interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage numerous complex and demanding tasks and to meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to work in a technical environment where technical terminology is frequently used.
- Discretion, sound judgement and a commitment to preserving strict confidentiality.
- Demonstrated commitment to uphold the College’s priorities on diversity and equity.

**Interview process may consist of a practical skills component.**

- The College requires proof of degrees, credentials or equivalencies from accredited regional or federal post-secondary institutions and/or their international equivalents. Credentials may require validation at the time of interviews or offer.
