The pilot Facility Operations Manager will report to CTO. The Pilot Facility Operations Manager’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, day-to-day operation of the Pilot Facility, refining and improving all pilot processes to ensure all operations run smoothly and effectively within safety, quality, and at an optimum level with lowest cost, and with the cooperation and support of other departments, including but not limited to: R&D, Sales and QA.
Principal Responsibilities:
1. Ensure safe working environment and maintaining facility in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Environmental policies and standard operation procedures.
2. Collaborate with R&D team to meet trial and / or pre-production trials and schedules. When necessary, support CTO for improvement and development of reactors.
3. Responsible for creation and maintenance of Standard operation procedure of pilot facility and the training of operators.
4. Responsible for day-to-day operation of the pilot facility, including but not limited, scheduled maintenance to ensure all operations run smoothly and effectively within safety, quality.
5. Support CTO for refining and improving existing pilot processes and evaluating new equipment and pilot processes.
job requirements:
1. More than 5 years of experience in equipment maintenance and management (experience in equipment management and maintenance in the chemical industry is an asset);
2. Knowledge and ability to operate computerized equipment;
3. Familiar with equipment maintenance, repair process and standards;
4. Design the fixture, optimize and improve product equipment;
5. Understanding of mechanical concept and the ability to quickly analyze abnormalities of various reactor and supporting equipment;
6. Proficient with MS office, experience with 3D&2D drawing software like PRO/E or SolidWorks, autoCAD is an asset;
7. Basic understanding of development process of non-standard equipment, experience in maintenance and management of automated production lines is an asset;
8. Familiar with regulations of the chemical industry is an asset;
9. Flexibility to adapt to and perform continental shift work;
10. Good verbal and written English communication skills, and a team-oriented mindset for collaborative work are critical.
