**ABOUT THE PROGRAM**:
The Upskilling for Data Analytics and Business Intelligence non-credit program is based on the former, award-winning Autism CanTech program. Our focus is on giving Autistic individuals the skills necessary to successfully enter the growing data industry.

Upskilling Data and Business Analysis is a 16-week, hands on program that includes both in-person learning and on-the-job work integrated learning. Participants acquire employment skills and develop workplace self-advocacy tools to ensure clear communication with their employer focused on equity, productivity, and accommodation. Participants will be supported in gradually entering the workforce through a work integrated learning experience.

The Program Advisor will act as the key program area contact for recruitment, liaison to the Office of the Registrar and Student Services, and partner with the program leadership team. The incumbent will work on monitoring student progress and proactively engage with current and future learners to address various challenges.

This position requires a high degree of responsibility, accountability, initiative, and leadership in a variety of operational areas. Excellent communication and liaising skills are required to work with students, internal college areas, and external stakeholders.

**HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE**:

- Create intake criteria and processes based on the parameters of our funding and goals of the faculty and the college.
- Plan and conduct intake interviews with potential participants.
- Support referrals and pathways to other services and programs within or external to NorQuest for unsuccessful applicants
- Support the process of registration, ensuring clear and consistent communication and successful transition into the program.
- Support participants through the program by collecting feedback.
- Be the go-to resource for the team on best practices, tools, and strategies for supporting Autistic learners and creating psychologically safer places.
- Address concerns and challenges brought forward by the participants and, when necessary, support clarity and resolution with teaching team.
- Plan, develop and deliver an exceptional student learning experience that is inclusive and adapted to the needs of the learners.
- Advise on unique program support needs, assisting with approvals by providing relevant specifications.
- Support career transition and work integrated learning experiences by providing insights to ensure successful employer-participant matching.
- Follow and stay up to date with all policies, standards, and relevant regulations as provided by NorQuest, the Faculty, and Technology Program Chair.

**WHAT YOU BRING**:

- Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited postsecondary institution in a related field (Disability Studies, Education, Psychology, Social Work) combined with practical experience working with Autistic adults, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- 5+ years of related advising and student support experience in a post-secondary environment.
- Expertise in program architecture, curriculum, course sequencing, pathways, and supporting learners.
- Experience with program development is an asset.
- Demonstrated experience within the disability community, with a focus on Autism.
- Understanding of trends in the employment of Autistic youth and adults, governance, challenges, opportunities, barriers, and enablers.
- Currently knowledge and relationships within the disability community and associated organizations is an asset.
- Experience in a post-secondary institution, ideally in combination with community development within the disability environment.
- Knowledge of adult learning principles, post-secondary pedagogy, and ability to teach technical theories to a diverse audience of learners are assets.
