**COUNSELLING ASSOCIATE**

Position Purpose and Summary
The Counselling Associate provides individual and/or group counselling for students, staff, and faculty. The position is part-time and is based on the Langley campus.

Key Areas of Accountability
- Provides individual and/or group counselling regarding students’ personal or academic concerns.
- Assists the Director of Mental Health Services in the development and facilitation of workshops that promote emotional health and academic success within members of the community.
- Assists in the training of Resident Assistants on handling mental health issues common to students living in dorms.
- Develop and facilitate in-service training workshops for counselling staff and graduate interns.
- Participate in weekly group supervision/case consultation.

Standards & Requirements
**Education**: Master’s degree in counselling psychology required; must belong to a registered governing association for counselors such as the BCACC, CCPA or AAMFT. Preference will be given to Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC)

Experience*: 2 to 4 Years of direct counselling.
