A School Counsellor plays a pivotal role in supporting students' academic, social, and emotional well-being within an educational setting. They provide guidance, counseling, and advocacy to help students navigate personal challenges, academic obstacles, and social issues. Whether it's assisting with career exploration, offering emotional support during difficult times, or facilitating conflict resolution, school counselors work collaboratively to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment conducive to students' overall growth and success.

POSTING DETAILS

Position - School Counsellor

Team - Associated Professional

Grade(s) - Kindergarten to Gr. 12

Start Date - As soon as possible (flexible)

Hours - Full time / Part time

Employment - Permanent / Contract

Location(s) - Varied / To be determined

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

A Master's degree in Counselling or Counselling Psychology or equivalent

Bachelor of Education (Elementary, Middle or Secondary) degree, or equivalent training

Successful teaching experience at the appropriate grade level

A valid Teacher Regulation Branch Certificate, or in progress.

A copy of your Certificate of Qualification (from the TRB to teach in BC)

PLEASE NOTE

The starting annual salary for this School Teacher position ranges from $50,000 to $104,000, with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement.

In accordance with the Criminal Record Review Act, successful applicants will be required to consent to a Criminal Record Check prior to employment.
