**DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
**Payroll & Payroll Oversight**
- Review & oversight of payroll submissions for each facility (hourly, salaried) within a Unionized environment.
- Provide support for facility level bookkeepers - training, reconciliations, supporting retroactive payments and other payroll related complexities.
- Coordination of and assistance with annual T4 process.
- Completion of various statutory returns, such as EHT, WSIB, PIER.
- Assistance with maintenance of group benefits plans
- Involved in the payroll accounting side of budgets, financial statements, Analysis of monthly statements and variances from budget
- Balance sheet schedules and reconciliations, month end payroll journal entries.
- Preparation of specific Ministry of Long Term Care reports
- Prepares and participates in annual accounting audits, corporate peer review, external audit of facilities.
- Lead annual Payroll related audits; payroll, systems, processes, new hires, employee benefit deductions.
- Ensures that the department maintains compliance, which is consistent with the Ministry of Long Term Care, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Employment Standards, internal policies/procedures, and collective bargaining unit(s).
**Systems Administration & Implementation**
- Lead the implementation of new HRIS system (ADP Workforce Now) from a payroll perspective
- Works collaboratively with internal clients and stakeholders to identify process workflows for HR/Payroll systems.
- Working with IT staff, provides support, guidance, and advice to management and staff on the new HRIS/Payroll system implementation ensuring service performance and implementation of process improvements.
- Build process, SOPs and training for users of Payroll module
- Implement payroll internal control functions
**SKILLS THE CLIENT IS LOOKING FOR**
- 4 years minimum full-cycle payroll experience.
- Experience in a Unionized environment - having dealt with collective bargaining agreements.
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) certification or in process of completion.
- Strong Excel with knowledge of VLOOKUPs and pivot tables
- Experience supporting payroll software implementation required - ideally with ADP Workforce Now.
- Demonstrates good knowledge of Collective Agreements, Employment Standards Act and Labour Relations Act
Pay: $70,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
