**The Opportunity**:
Reporting to the Director, People and Culture, the HR Specialist will be responsible for supporting several aspects of the Human Resources function at Sentrex including, but not limited to, HR Information System (HRIS), and payroll and benefits administration. This role involves overseeing the HRIS, ensuring accurate payroll processing in conjunction with the Payroll Specialist, and administering the Pension and Group Insurance Plan and benefits program. The HR Specialist will work closely with People and Culture, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient HR operations, compliance with legal requirements, and support for employees regarding HR-related inquiries.

**A Day in the Life (What you will do here)**:

- Assist employees with Pension and Group Insurance Plan enrollment process, including filling out necessary forms, and submitting forms for processing.
- Respond to inquiries from employees about the Pension and Group Insurance plan including providing ongoing education to employees about the plan.
- Coordinate with financial institutions on Pension and Group Insurance Plan transfers, withdrawals, or other plan activities.
- Maintain accurate and up to date records of all Pension and Group Insurance accounts, including contributions, withdrawals, and investment.
- Process regular Pension and Group Insurance contributions from payroll deductions.
- In conjunction with the Senior People and Culture Coordinator, conducts on-going education for new hires on Sentrex benefits program.
- Provides HRIS system support to employees and managers as needed.
- Identifies issues and applies judgment to find proactive solutions within our HRIS.
- Maintains HR data integrity within and across systems, conducts system audits, and reconciles discrepancies with other functional areas to ensure data accuracy.
- Extract data from the HRIS to generate various reports as requested by People & Culture, Finance, and People Leaders.
- Assist with the design and maintenance of HR metric dashboards that provide real-time insights into HR indicators, and ensure dashboards are user friendly and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to enhance reporting capabilities within the HRIS.
- Analyze HR data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
- Create and escalate HRIS business and service cases through UKG portal to provide resolution on ad hoc requests.
- Provide ongoing support to end-users regarding the use of reporting tools and interpretation of data.
- Create and maintain standards HR reports such as headcount, turnover, and diversity metrics.
- Assist Payroll Specialist with the accurate and timely processing of bi-weekly payroll for employees across Canada.
- Ensures payroll timesheets are approved and reconciled to payroll export, and verifies timesheet entries cross checking PTO, and unpaid time off.
- Perform UKG configuration for accrued time off and leave of absence plans.
- Audit and correct discrepancies related to vacation entitlements and accruals.
- Establish internal controls and audits to ensure compliance of related legislation, and company policies.
