**Accounting and Payroll Specialist**

We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic, and experienced Payroll and General Accountant, who will perform the day-to-day accounting and payroll function. The incumbent will be responsible for handling the fundamental aspects of the company financial recordkeeping, including recording financial transactions, processing payroll, reconciling bank statements and inter-company accounts, and perform other job-related duties as requested by management.

**Responsibilities**:
Payroll responsibilities include salaries and hourly gross pay calculation, related deductions and taxes, timely payments, reporting and internal control. Complete the payroll process and activities necessary to the production of an accurate and timely payroll in accordance with all applicable federal and provincial legislation by recording elements of the payroll data into the financial systems.

Accounting duties include but not limited to, bank/Intercompany/GL reconciliations, vendor invoice processing, assistance in GST/HST/QST/PST return filing, support to AR and AP teams as appropriate, posting of journal entries to accounting system, month-end accruals and preparation of schedules and reports and variance analysis, annual audit assistance

**Qualifications**:

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting
- Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in processing full cycle payroll is preferred
- Prior experience working in SAP environment and ADP WorkForce Now
- Understanding of Federal and Provincial taxes and its accounting treatment
- Exposure to month-end and quarter-end book closure process
- Understanding of monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, various GL, and intercompany accounts
- Experience working with multi-currency environment
- Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism
- Handling of confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion
- Bachelor’s degree in business / finance, or related
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to work in a team environment, and work well under pressure with firm deadlines
- Must possess excellent communication, problem solving and analytical skills with strong attention to detail

**Salary**: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
