Morrison Hershfield's Transportation Division provides planning, design and construction administration services for roadway, highway, transit / rail, bridge and related projects. We are currently seeking a Business Development Specialist to join our Transportation Group in the Greater Ottawa area.

**Responsibilities**:
- Input new opportunities and contacts into CRM- Assist with RFP response, including utilizing various RFP platforms to review, and assess new opportunities, and work closely with the management team to determine whether to pursue- Analyze Request for Proposals (RFPs) and Request for Qualifications (RFQs). Outline and organize proposals/submittals to be responsive to clients’ requirements, including content, format, forms and other information- Use template information to begin building RFP responses and work with project personnel for content quality and accuracy. Create, proofread, and edit proposal text for proper grammar, spelling, comprehension and style- Participate in the selection and recommendation of appropriate projects and personnel to be included in proposals, according to RFPs/RFQs- Serve as the primary contact for the entire proposal development process- Establish priorities and target dates to meet non-negotiable project deadlines- Ensure due diligence of proposal production and submission of a fully compliant bid- Collect necessary information to develop a proposal with various collaborators and stakeholders throughout the process until final submission.- Demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills- Searching various bid and tender sites for opportunities of interest and distribute for consideration

Data Management:
- Maintain an update database of our various projects and staff resumes.- Assist team with data entry and reporting using company databases including:
- Client/proposal management (CRM)-
- New Projects (PIA)Document Management:
- Work with practice leads to sort and format existing documents- Assist practice leads in the development of new documents

Marketing Support:
- Coordinate obtaining project photos for project experience database- Writing and updating resumes, project descriptions and other marketing material.- Prepare Project References for completed project assignment for the company’s project repository for future reference

Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree or equivalent years of experience- Minimum 3 years of experience in a proposal, business development or administrative support role- Experience within the Engineering/Construction industry is an asset- Graphic design and/or production experience a plus- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. French is an asset.- Detail oriented, excellent researching and organizational skills- Prior experience preparing proposals for MTO and/or City of Ottawa is an asset- Ability to work independently, take initiative and multi-task to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment- Experience working with teams in multiple offices- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products with emphasis on Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook- Experience with SharePoint and Adobe In Design a plus- Confidence in interacting with all levels of management and clients
