**Revenue Vehicle Maintenance Manager**

Cad Railway’s delivery team will operate and maintain Metrolinx’s rail maintenance facilities in Etobicoke and Whitby, as well as in multiple overnight along with mid-day light servicing facilities located across the Metrolinx train service area.

**Summary of the role**:
The Revenue Vehicle Maintenance Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of the daily vehicle maintenance in accordance with customer contractual requirements for the Metrolinx’s Legacy Fleet Maintenance operations.

This individual will collaborate with the management team, customers, suppliers, partners and involved stakeholders.

Reporting to the Senior Manager Asset Maintenance Optimization will oversee the daily vehicle maintenance function including the preventative maintenance bays and yards (Whitby and Willowbrook), mid-day layovers and Union Station, Aldershot fueling, night layovers, yard control centers including yard movements (Whitby and Willowbrook), service delivery technical experts, and maintenance planning in-consist, by using the allotted resources in a cost effective and safe manner.

**WORK LOCATION: Position is based out of Whitby**

**Core Accountabilities**:

- Confirm that all HSE policies, processes and procedures are being complied
- Responsible for managing a team of supervisors by planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the operation. Responsible for the overall performance of the team. Able to coach and provide leadership development to members of the supervisory team. Ensure all rail equipment service is completed on time and within schedule so to ensure revenue service is not impacted
- Organize resources to ensure potential equipment failures are identified early and repairs are completed timely so not to affect rail revenue service
- Participate and provide input during meetings with staff and the customer on operational matters
- Provide advice and guidance on complex technical issues that have been escalated. Assist with key service maintenance solutions in the preventative maintenance bays and 24/7-yard operations. Maintain an understanding of industry best practices as it relates to rail equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance measures
- Act as point of contact for the investigation of customer issues relating to daily equipment maintenance. Able to investigate, consolidate information, determine root cause, make recommendations, and prepare a comprehensive report for all customer concerns
- Coordinate and ensure completion of special initiatives and projects. Participate in continuous improvement programs for the purpose of improving reliability and reducing cost
- Measure and analyze all equipment reliability key performance indicators. Identify failure trends, develop reliability improvement strategies and process and complete reliability studies for the customer
- Able to understand and provide input on the preparation of the financial budget. Review and ensure the department works within the budget parameters. Ability to explain and justify the expenditures of the department
- Provide input and make recommendations regarding department policies and procedures
- Able to understand and provide guidance to staff regarding the collective agreement. Promote a positive and collaborative relationship with the Union
- Ability to develop KPI’s and present data
- Prepare senior management relating any potential complications
- Work with the team to prepare and create recurrent reports that are requested by operations or higher
- Comply with the company’s applicable policies and procedures as well as human resources’ guidelines

**Qualifications**:

- Ability to build strong rapport with the team and unionized maintenance personnel
- 5 to 7 years experience managing in a rail maintenance environment and/or a related field. Rail locomotive and passenger coach experience and knowledge is an asset
- Prior experience managing a team
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance, work order and scheduling techniques
- Diploma or degree in a related field. Consideration will be given to education, training, and overall experience

**Nice to have**:

- Experience working in an unionized environment
- Familiarity with other industries such as Aerospace
- Experience working in the rail industry with a comprehensive knowledge of rail equipment
