The Ministry of Indigenous Relations is dedicated to advancing stronger relationships between the provincial government and Indigenous communities, organizations and people. One of the Indigenous Women’s Initiatives (IWI) division’s key focus areas is addressing violence and increasing safety and economic security of Indigenous women, girls and two spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex and asexual plus (2S+) people through the implementation of the Alberta Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls (MMIWG) Roadmap. This includes providing secretariat support to the Premier’s Council on Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two Spirit Plus (2S+) People, and the First Nations and Métis Women’s Councils on Economic Security. The IWI division also administers the Community Support Fund (CSF) and the Alberta Indigenous Intern Program (AIIP).

The Manager leads initiatives supporting Indigenous women, girls and 2S+ people and their families, ensuring their perspectives are integrated into policies and programs. This role also coordinates Alberta's implementation of the Alberta Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Roadmap, administers the Community Support Fund, and oversees the Alberta Indigenous Intern Program (AllP).

**Qualifications**:
**Minimum Requirement Standards for both roles**: 4 years university graduation in a field related to the position (Indigenous Studies, Social Work, Public Administration, Community Development, etc.) supplemented by four years related experience.
**Equivalency**: Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.
**Required Experience**:
- **Policy Development and Implementation**:Developing and implementing policies or programs.
- **Project Management**: Leading and managing projects, including coordinating cross-ministry or multi-stakeholder initiatives, with a focus on achieving specific outcomes. Life cycle of a project.
- **Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Building**: Building and maintaining effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, including but not limited to government officials, community leaders, and non-profit organizations.
**Assets**:
- **Working with Indigenous Communities**: Engaging with Indigenous peoples and organizations, including understanding their cultures, histories, and socio-economic conditions.
- **Leadership Experience**:Leading teams or initiatives, demonstrating the ability to inspire and guide staff while fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
- **Working or engaging within a government context**: Understanding how governments operate, including decision-making, and navigating laws, policies and processes.
