Montréal, Canada Compulsion Games Full time

**Job Description: Community Manager (Mid/Senior)**

**Department: Marketing**

**~ The Studio**

Compulsion Games is a first-party game studio and a subsidiary of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios, located in Montreal, Canada.

Founded by industry veterans, we have a human-first culture where we trust and respect each other, with shared love and passion for our craft. Our games have won praise for their art, music, world-building, and engaging narratives. We are devoted to building experiences that feel unique and handcrafted and our programming team is here to make sure our content creators and designers are as creative as they can be.

We aim to create characters with compelling, human flaws and narratives that explore heavy themes with care and empathy. Our storytelling typically has a healthy dose of darkness and comedy thrown in for good measure.

**~ Our Culture**

Compulsion Games is a quality-led studio with a humble team that enjoys experimenting with an artistic approach to making games. We like to hire people who are drawn to our core values of trust, autonomy, harmony, and craftsmanship and share our vision of a studio built around them. As a team, we do not want to grow too big in order to stay true to these values as they don’t scale well.

Our team is passionately committed to both diversity and accessibility, core values throughout the Xbox Game Studios group. Therefore, a core part of our hiring process is ensuring new hires are well-aligned in order to build a harmonious team and company. We care deeply about our team and their well-being, so you’d be joining a close-knit group of creative people.

**~ The Role**

As a Community Manager, your main responsibilities would involve building and maintaining relationships with the game's player community. You would be responsible for creating engaging social media content, moderating online channels & forums, responding to player inquiries, feedback, and complaints, and partnering with our Director of Brand & Communications.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and execute strategies to grow the awareness of the Compulsion brand (& its games).
- Define and understand our audience & the right tone when communicating/developing content.
- Envision, create and post content on social media platforms & engage with the community.
- Be proactive and self-sufficient when creating content about our brands on our owned social media (ability to reformat static visuals, do basic video edits, capture gameplay footage for social media needs, export files, etc.)
- Develop new partnerships and leverage existing partners for growth / cross-promotion.
- Own influencers and press inquiries and relationships. Propose and execute a strategy to leverage influencers.
- Ability to have a multidisciplinary approach and grow in a small-mid game company. Interest in tackling other brand/marketing projects outside of pure community management.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or a related field is an asset
- 2+ years of experience in community management, social media management, or a related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual ideally (English & French)
- Strong knowledge of social media platforms, online forums, chat channels, and what content works best for each channel
- Familiarity with video games and the gaming industry
- Passion for creating and fostering a positive and engaged community around our games and studio
- Basic knowledge of image/video editing software: Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teams
- Data analysis and reporting skills to measure community engagement and sentiment

This is a full-time position, with full salary and studio benefits based in our new Downtown location, by Atwater Metro station. Since Covid-19, we have permanently shifted the studio to a hybrid, or full-time remote working setup for employees, provided you are already based in or willing to relocate to Canada.
