**RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC**
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

**Position summary**

Reporting to the Nominated Principal Investigator, the CHILD-BRIGHT Manager of Communications identifies, develops, implements and evaluates communications and marketing strategies, materials and activities designed to inform stakeholders, media and the general public of progress, initiatives and outcomes of the CHILD-BRIGHT Network.

**General Duties**
- Develops the CHILD-BRIGHT Network’s communications strategy, develops, delivers and coordinates the network’s internal and external communications initiatives based on the communications plans,
- Coordinates the network’s branding strategy and facilitates adherence to branding standards,
- Leads the design, development and implementation of CHILD-BRIGHT’s website, social media and internal/external communication tools, oversees website maintenance and content update, and works with technical staff and third-party providers for new web developments,
- Identifies, develops and maintains ongoing communications and information-sharing channels, especially online channels with researchers, the media and other partners, for the purposes of publicity, engagement and outreach,
- Negotiates supplier and third-party contracts related to communications services for best value, quality and effectiveness of activities,
- Assists with the planning and execution of CHILD-BRIGHT events, conferences, and initiatives,
- Coordinates French translation requirements,
- In collaboration with partner organizations, CIHR and network committees, develops and coordinates the preparation of all external communications material (including Reports to Community, brochures, newsletters, event displays, etc.),
- Develops strong relationships and shares best practices with other CIHR and similar research network Communications officers,
- Maintains the overall and detailed communications services including overseeing and managing its staffing,
- Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change,
- Other duties as required by the network.

**Education / Experience**
- Five (5) years of experience and excellence in communications and project management,
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills,
- Fluent in French and English,
- Creative ability with experience in coordinating marketing activities and event planning,
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with a variety of individuals and organizations,
- Proven track record of managing complex projects and multiple priorities, successfully delivering projects on a time and budget,
- Superior computer skills including a facility with Microsoft Office suite, specifically Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, familiarity with Adobe suite of programs,
- Working knowledge of online platforms (Squarespace, Mailchimp, YouTube, etc.), graphic design software (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn),
- Efficient, detail-oriented, and quality performer with a collegial, collaborative, and professional working style,
- Highly organized, self-motivated and able to prioritize and multi-task under tight deadlines,
- Knowledge and experience in the health sector and familiarity with research and research environments, an asset,
- Knowledge and interest in brain-based developmental disabilities and patient-oriented research, an asset.

**Additional information**

**Status**: Full-time, temporary (one year with possibility of renewal), hybrid position
**Pay Scale**: $52,998.40 to $98,425.60 per year, commensurate with education & work experience
**Work Shift**: From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Mondays to Fridays (35-hour workweek)
**Work Site**: 5252 Boul. de Maisonneuve Ouest
