Effective January 1st, 2024 the salary range for this position is $1,438.59 to $1,836.98 per week in compliance with OPSEU Unified Bargaining Unit collective agreement provisions. **What can I expect to do in this role?**: In this role, you will:

- provide policy research, coordination and analysis support by researching and collecting information from various sources (e.g. legislation, regulations, policies and programs)
- analyze and evaluate policy and program information and data to identify issues and trends and provide advice to senior staff
- work collaboratively with staff to prepare, analyze and review a wide range of reports, options papers, briefing materials and other materials for decision-making
- develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners
- prepare various correspondence, information, presentations and questions and answer materials for internal and external use

**How do I qualify?**:
**Policy Development and Coordination Skills**:

- You have knowledge and experience supporting policy development, coordination and analysis to identify and understand issues and impacts, develop/examine options, mitigate risks and provide options, advice and recommendations to senior staff.
- You understand municipal governments, key municipal issues, the governing relationship between different levels of government and relevant legislations, regulations, policies and programs.
- You have knowledge of the government decision-making process and accountability frameworks.
- You can review and analyze various policy documents to inform decisions and provide advice to senior staff, including Cabinet submissions, decision notes, briefing materials and various reports.

**Research, Analytical and Problem-solving Skills**:

- You can plan, design and conduct policy research and analysis on various issues, accurately synthesize complex information and summarize findings.
- You can identify, gather and evaluate data, proactively work to address knowledge gaps, conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses and present findings.
- You can identify and monitor trends, issues and new developments from a variety of resources, including media outlets (e.g. social media, media reports) and stakeholder reports
- You have demonstrated analytical, negotiation and problem solving skills to develop and provide policy options, advice and solutions.

**Communication, Consultation and Interpersonal Skills**:

- You have oral communication skills to effectively present and communicate complex information to internal and external audiences and ensure their understanding
- You have strong written communication skills to respond to requests, write various reports and prepare correspondence, briefing notes, policy documents, presentations and a range of communication materials.
- You possess political acuity and sound judgment to handle and maintain confidential sensitive information.
- You have experience supporting consultations to collaborate, exchange and seek information from internal and external stakeholders
- You have strong negotiation skills to build consensus and gain buy-in
- You have interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders.

**Project Management, Organizational and Computer Skills**:

- You have knowledge of project management principles and techniques to assist in managing project scope and deliverables, conduct project planning and track timelines and progress.,
- You are highly self-motivated, organized and can manage competing deadlines and priorities to meet tight deadlines.
- You can participate in and support project teams and represent the branch or ministry at various meetings, conferences and forums.
