The Learning and Development Specialist is responsible for designing, developing, coordinating, and delivering comprehensive learning and development programs. Utilizing a variety of adult learning methodologies and change management practices, this role aims to support corporate initiatives, organization-wide development programs, and department learning initiatives, with the objective of enhancing employee skills and knowledge to align with business goals.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborates with all areas of the business to design, develop and support implementation of engaging learning and development programs for the organization utilizing a variety of techniques including face-to-face and virtual eLearning.
- Delivers and facilitates business programs that adhere to adult learning principles/theory, instructional design theory, change management practices, and related strategies.
- Evaluates, maintains and communicates internal training programs to better the learner’s experience, maximize knowledge transfer and retention
- Assists leaders in providing employees with the information necessary to perform their duties efficiently.
- Coordinates training and development programs provided by external service providers as required.
- Promotes available learning opportunities through planning and delivering training programs to various group sizes.
- Conducts and manages development programs/schedules including reporting on program results, metrics and ROIs.
- Administers and supports the Leadership & Career Development program.
- Administers LinkedIn Learning for the organization and provides support and recommendations as needed.
- Remains current and informed on changes in the industry as it may impact our organization. Anticipates and responds proactively to these changes.
- Utilizes training management software, learning management systems (LMS) and other technology tools to streamline training processes, track progress, and provide reporting.
- Identifies process inefficiencies and works with applicable areas to develop or recommend solutions.
- Participates in corporate and departmental initiatives as well as projects.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
- Dedicated to the principles of exceptional service; committed to responding to, anticipating and addressing customer needs for both internal and external customers.
- University degree or relevant College diploma or equivalent combination of education and related experience. A certificate in adult education and change management practices is beneficial.
- A minimum of three to five years’ experience planning, designing, developing, coordinating and delivering learning and development programs for adults.
- Strong working knowledge of office productivity tools, including Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and PowerPoint).
- Strong technical skills are required, including knowledge of Confluence and Atlassian products.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with a demonstrated ability to deal with all levels within the organization in a team environment.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills with the ability to work quickly and accurately
