Overview:
Reporting to the Director, Talent Management and Learning & Development, the Manager, Learning & Development is responsible for leading the development and delivery of all employee skills development, leadership development, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion strategy and programs, and competencies to support corporate strategic learning initiatives. The position is responsible to set and lead the strategic direction of the Learning and Development department, including identifying and executing a path towards building MPI as a progressive learning organization.

As a corporate leader in employee learning, the Manager, Learning & Development drives L&D programs that enable employee growth, success and retention. The position contributes to building strong people capability and partners with all divisions to ensure the Corporation has learning and development opportunities to support leader and employee career development.

In addition, the position manages the research, planning, development, implementation and evaluation of learning related to cultural awareness and safety, as well as diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives and activities to align employee capacity to effectively contribute to the achievement our DEI strategy.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide direction on the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of the learning and development (L&D) strategy to support the achievement of divisional and corporate business objectives.
- Develop and implement an L&D technology framework, including principles and practices for interim and future platforms.
- Direct and/or lead the execution and maintenance of various corporate-level initiatives such as overall corporate training, employee career development, and skills and competency development, identifying opportunities for external partnerships to support.
- Drive leading edge, customer centric learning design that enables employees to access key competency development opportunities in the flow of work, to grow and be successful and build strong people capability.
- Conduct regular research and stay abreast of all learning technology developments and best practices that inform future design and program development.
- Responsible for overseeing the DEI strategy implementation, including employee education programming and initiatives.
- Build and implement a competency framework across all divisions in MPI, including Core, functional and leadership competencies.
- Partner with the Knowledge Management Services and senior leaders in all divisions to build and execute on the Corporate Learning Strategy that will govern learning across the Corporation.
- Lead the continuous improvement of MPI’s Education Assistance Program, focusing on customer service, program evaluation and employee career impact.
- Establish governance model for DEI, including Employee Resource Group (advisory committees) and Executive and Board roles.
- Conduct regular reviews of corporate training programs and services with a DEI lens to identify and recommend opportunities for improvements and alignment.
- Build education that supports leaders in developing and adopting inclusive behaviours.

Qualifications:

- University degree preferably in management, organizational development, human resources or another related field.
- Eight years of related learning and development experience in a corporate environment, including at least three years at the management level.
- Extensive experience leading and/or managing learning and education program development and L&D teams, as well as large scale corporate-level projects.
- Completion of one or more of the following professional designations and certifications is an asset:

- Certified Professional in Human Resources Professional (CPHR)
- Certificate in Adult Education or Educational Technology
- Project Management
- Certification in Leadership Coaching
