Toronto, Canada AGCO Full time

As a regulatory agency serving the people of Ontario, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) is responsible for ensuring that the province’s alcohol, gaming, horse racing and cannabis retail sectors, operate according to the highest standards of honesty and integrity, and in the public interest. This is a complex, challenging regulatory mandate that protects consumers, supports market growth, and enables business operations. The AGCO has recently modernized existing legislation and added new mandates, all while providing customers with the opportunity to adapt and operate flexibly within changing circumstances while maintaining high regulatory standards. With the announced retirement of the current Chief Executive Officer & Registrar (CEO & Registrar), the AGCO seeks a new CEO & Registrar who will build on its achievements and embrace the opportunities that lie ahead.

Reporting to an engaged and skills-based Board of Directors, the CEO & Registrar provides strategic leadership, guiding/managing a significant change agenda. The multi-year journey the AGCO has been on adopting an outcomes-based compliance approach represents a significant operational and cultural transformation for the AGCO and the sectors it regulates. This combined with evolving public policy, societal trends, stakeholder perspectives, the COVID-19 pandemic and increasingly challenging labour market, requires exceptional leadership from the CEO & Registrar. With an established “People First” approach, the CEO & Registrar will lead a strong, engaged, and motivated workforce that has been key to delivering on its mandate of regulating in the public interest with a customer focus.

Applications are encouraged immediately and should be submitted online in confidence at
We thank all those who express an interest, however only those chosen for further development will be contacted.

The AGCO is an inclusive and equal opportunity employer.

Disability related accommodation during the recruitment process is available upon request.
