**Role Responsibilities**:
As Governance and Legislative Coordinator, you will coordinate FP's legislative agenda and governance items moving through government decision-making processes; you will coordinate the preparation of act and regulation decision packages, review Cabinet and committee materials, inform program areas about legislative amendments and approvals, and track deliverables and timelines. Your role also involves research, report writing, drafting briefing notes and presentations, and supporting other branch initiatives.

Additionally, you will support the development of agency governance framework, board member recruitment and appointments, provide guidance to ABCs, and track appointment expiry dates.
- Developing materials to provide information and advice to government officials on legislative issues, ensuring adherence to timelines, accuracy, and quality expectations.
- Coordinating the preparation of documentation for act and regulation amendments, including briefing notes, memoranda to Cabinet, ministerial orders, recommendations for Order-in-Council, legislation charts, and drafting instructions, in collaboration with program areas, the legal team, and the Policy Coordination Office.
- Tracking and forward planning of policy, legislative, and agency recruitment and appointment items; and
- Informing program areas on processes, procedures, and timing related to legislative amendments and approvals, and agency governance activities.
- Cultivating collaborative, positive, and productive relationships with key stakeholders within the ministry and cross-government, including Communications and Public Engagement.
- Assisting the Director in other policy initiatives and activities led by the unit, providing research and policy analysis support.

This role requires a dynamic, flexible individual capable of managing multiple demands and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. It involves close collaboration with various stakeholders and requires strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills to ensure the successful implementation of legislative and governance activities within the ministry.
