Legislative Drafting Expert

The Government of Alberta is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legislative Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our Legislative Counsel Office, you will play a critical role in drafting high-quality government legislation and providing expert advice to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert legislative drafting services to government ministries and agencies
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of government policies and legislation
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify legislative needs and develop solutions
- Mentor and coach junior legislative drafters to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed
- Stay up-to-date with changes in legislation and regulatory policies
- Contribute to the development of legislative drafting standards and guidelines
- Minimum 10 years of experience in legislative drafting, preferably in a government setting
- Strong understanding of government policies and legislation
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
