Legal Assistant

A remote or work-from-home position will not be offered.
**Primary Responsibilities**:
- Administering estate and power of attorney filings including:
- Contacting clients for information and required documentation.
- Contacting and notifying various authorities, government agencies, creditors, banks, insurers, etc. to obtain required information or to provide notices.
- Liaise with our real estate team to arrange for sub-search and preparation of real estate property transfers.
- Corresponding with the Court Office.
- Preparing estate and power of attorney accounting.
- Calculating executors’ compensation.
- Preparing Court documents to pass accounts.
- Completing Estate Information Returns and filings with the Ministry of Finance.
- Prepare reports to clients.
- Assist in the preparation and drafting of wills and powers of attorney; include primary and secondary will preparation.
- Preparation of accounts, ensuring disbursements and expenses are properly captured, and that accounts are paid on a timely basis.
**Qualifications**:
- Experience in Wills and Estates is an asset.
- A keen attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- A strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively on a team and individually.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong technical skills using MS Office.
- Attention to client needs and ensuring client satisfaction is a priority.
