As the Communications Officer, Development, you will be integrated into collaborative communications and advancement departments where you will demonstrate initiative, good judgment, and exceptional writing skills to inspire audiences and advance Temerty Medicine priorities. Working closely with the Senior Advancement Communications Officer, you will execute communications plans, create engaging donor-centriccontent and perform a range of copywriting and editorial activities.

**Your responsibilities will include**:

- Liaising with stakeholders to draft, review communications briefs
- Writing and editing content to advance fundraising objectives
- Overseeing tasks and consulting with stakeholders regarding the production and dissemination of proposals, cases for support, donor profiles and other communications/marketing materials
- Supporting ongoing fundraising campaigns, including tracking milestones and timelines for stories, liaising with departments to support content development and conducting interviews for publications
- Maintaining information on digital platforms
- Exchanging information at formal department and/or program committee meetings

**Essential Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience
- Minimum four years of relevant experience in fundraising communications, in a university, hospital or comparable complex multi-stakeholder environment
- Experience implementing communications strategies and plans
- Experience writing concisely and to deadline; conducting interviews and writing and editing content for publication
- Experience building and maintaining internal and external stakeholder relationships
- Experience working with text and images on digital content management systems
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Adobe Creative Suite
- Excellent research, interviewing, writing, editing and digital media skills
- A creative, resourceful and solutions-oriented self-starter possessing the ability to work independently in a high-profile, time-sensitive environment while balancing competing priorities
