**People and Culture Assistant**
As part of the Talent, Acquisition and Engagement team within the People and Culture department, the People and Culture Assistant will work closely with the team to provide administrative and recruitment support. The People & Culture Assistant will be responsible for conducting full-cycle recruitment and onboarding duties, including Human Resource Information System (HRIS) entries and document tracking. They will also be responsible for providing general administrative duties and responding to general human resources inquires.
Holland Bloorview's People and Culture department is comprised of dedicated professionals who provide business-oriented, client-facing service to meet the diverse needs of the organization. **Key Responsibilities**
- Conducts full-cycle recruitment and onboarding duties, including
- managing postings and updates job descriptions on the Applicant Tracking System (ATS)
- ensuring criminal checks are done for new employees
- coordinating interviews and conducting reference checks
- creating new hire packages and competition folders
- inputting all new hire data in the HRIS and third party benefit systems including personal information changes
- supporting the People and Culture Advisor with delivering new employee orientation
- coordinating and tracking the probationary review process
- Provides general clerical and administrative duties such as
- processing employee identification badges
- collecting paperwork from employees
- filing correspondence and employee personnel file documentation
- ensuring adequate supplies of HR forms and brochures
- reception duties in cooperation with colleagues in the People and Culture department
- answering general inquiries related to recruitment, on-boarding, and orientation
- managing the general human resources inbox and triaging inquiries to the right member of the People and Culture department
- maintaining the parking system database
- Assists the Talent, Acquisition, and Engagement team with requests for information, projects, and operating priorities.
- Coaches and guides the People and Corporate Services Clerk with filing and documentation retentions processes
- Provides back up administrative support to the Chief People and Culture Officer in the absence of the Executive Assistant
- Performs other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
- Completed or working towards a post-secondary education in Human Resources Management
- 1-2 years clerical experience within an HR department is strongly preferred
- Excellent customer service skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Word, Excel, and Outlook, and experience in HRIS data entry is an asset
- Passionate about working in an organization that values and promotes diversity, accessibility, equity, inclusion and anti-racism
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities and manage a busy and varied workload while meeting required deadlines
- Has high degree of efficiency with a strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to work with and support the collaborative efforts of a team while also able to work independently
