HRO Core Inc. is rapidly growing National HR company based in Halifax focussed on providing **Dedicated Fractional HR** services to the non-profit, startup/technology and hospitality sectors. HRO Core offers the following services:

- HR - advising on a range of HR issues including HR audits and assessments, employee handbooks, recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, occupational health and safety, employment standards, records management, exit management and other special projects that arise. We work with small to medium sized businesses and non-profit organizations, offering team-based, fractional, dedicated HR support, and HR on-call services.
- HR consulting on HRIS considerations, assisting with needs assessment, review of top HRIS systems, selection and decision making considerations, and implementation.
- Group Benefits - as a licensed Benefit Advisor in Nova Scotia, Ontario and Alberta - advising organizations on group health benefits and group savings plans
- Wellness - providing wellness programs to organizations
- Mindfulness - we deliver mindfulness programs to individuals and organizations, including core content from the Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute

**About the Position**:
This part time role acts as a support to our CEO, VP of HR and Senior Consultants by providing HR and Benefits Administration. This is an hourly position, ranging from 20-30 hours per week, with great opportunities for learning, growth, and long term advancement.

Initial responsibilities will differ from week to week, based on client needs and may include:

- Writing employee handbooks, and ad-hoc policies
- Creating HR templates, and checklists
- Preparing draft client communications
- Creating job postings, job descriptions, conducting informal 20 minute pre-screen interviews as part of early stage recruitment processes
- Conducting Exit Interviews, and sending out end of employment checklists
- Preparing employment surveys from existing templates, and collecting and compiling survey information
- Creating and/or updating existing employment contracts based on existing templates
- Researching and summarizing employment standards and employment legislation information in clear, succinct quick reference guides (one page max)
- Answering client HR inquiries through our HR on call ticketing system

**Other Responsibilities might include**:
Benefits Administration
- Answering quick client inquiries by reviewing benefit plans, checking benefit portals, and liaising with benefits providers
- Assist clients with benefits enrolments and updating member information upon changes to salary, promotions, and upon life changes
- Liaising with GroupQuest on renewals, reports and other benefits issues
- Liaising with PPI on individual business as required
- Liaising with Insurers for client issues as well as for Pension plan issues which do not go through GroupQuest or PPI
