How you’ll contribute
As one of our key Regional Development Manager’s (RDM’s), you will set the standard for managing our branches and will be responsible for developing regional market initiatives with full accountability for performance. Acting as leadership for branch and hub managers and working with Sales Directors in your region, you will analyze business opportunities and develop new and current customer relationships by:
- Directing and providing support for all operations under your control by monitoring performance and guiding managers in the achievement of current business goals.
- Being accountable for and directing the regional business to maximize its profitable growth and return on investment.
- Developing the region’s annual business plan for approval, providing full details related to operating facilities, store openings and capital acquisitions and ensures it is followed through to completion.
- Providing the necessary management and leadership to the region’s branches with full P&L accountability for their performance.
- Co-ordinating the region’s activities with the VP Operations to ensure that the necessary services and support are available.
- Fostering cost effectiveness for the operation of the branches under your direct control.
- Providing quarterly analysis and reporting of the region’s performance against budget.
- Partnering with Sales Directors to provide action plans for needed corrective initiatives to improve performance, review sales call plans, and ensure overall objectives are achieved.
- Working with Sales and Marketing to coordinate efforts with respect to Company sales and marketing initiatives.
- Completing an analysis of new opportunities to determine their viability and making recommendations on strategy.
- Designing and implementing sound business plans for new opportunities to ensure that the identified growth and profit is achieved.
- Contributing to corporate strategic planning exercises.
- Identifying, creating and developing profitable strategic alliances with business partners
- Identifying acquisition targets and making recommendations on courses of action
- Developing business plans and managing the integration of acquisitions into the region
- Discussing and helping formulate plans for the development of employees with Human Resources
- Presenting and recommending staffing requirements to Human Resources
- Ensuring compliance of all policies and relevant government legislation
- Adhering to and promoting our Company Safety Policies, including wearing all required PPE.
What we’re looking for
- Post-secondary education in relevant field or equivalent work experience
- Minimum 5 years of management experience at a store/branch level, preferably within the equipment rental, construction service, home improvement, or related industries.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and track record of meeting tight deadlines and growth objectives.
- Exceptional interpersonal, decision making, problem-solving, and employee relation management skills
- Strong proficiency with MS Office, Dashboards, RMUI/TSS/WSS software.
- Familiarity with construction and industrial environments/projects, and able to interact with senior management, sales directors, site managers, and direct reports
