**Job Summary**

The Accounting Coordinator I is responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties, preparing journal entries for month-end such as prepaid expenses and accruals, managing monthly reconciliation, quarterly reporting (lease adjustment) and owning the accounting for fixed assets. Other responsibilities include monthly processing and review of intercompany transactions (AR and AP).

**Key Duties and Responsibilities**
- Process and review of intercompany transactions (AR & AP)
- Process adjustments, corrections and accruals in the accounting system
- Reconciliation and remittance of sales tax and corporate tax
- Maintain prepaid accounts and calculate monthly expense
- Maintain fixed assets subledger, including additions, disposals, transfers and monthly depreciation expense
- Maintain and reconcile accrued expenses and other accounts as assigned
- Assist with requirements from auditors, monthly/quarterly reporting to parent company
- All other accounting duties as needed

**Qualifications/Competencies**
- Minimum 5 years of direct work experience in a similar position
- Strong knowledge of Canadian Accounting Standards
- Working knowledge of sales taxes across all Provinces
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Basic knowledge of ERP System (AS400 and SAP preferred)
- Ability to interpret and act upon complex instructions.
- Good communication skills, including written and verbal skills in English (French a plus)
- Able to multi-task, remain objective in stressful situations
- Ability to work overtime on occasion
- Strong time-management skills

**Educations/Certifications**
- College diploma required or equivalent experience
- University degree in accounting or business is a plus
