**About Our Opportunity**:
The Manager, Parks & Recreation, is accountable for providing leadership in park planning, infrastructure renewal, policies, and strategies for the Nova Scotia Provincial Park system.

**Primary Accountabilities**:
The Manager works towards a system of sustainable parks, protected beaches and trails that positively influence the Nova Scotia quality of life and economy by providing opportunities for protection, nature tourism, outdoor recreation, and educational activities.

This position is responsible for building and maintaining respectful relationships, negotiating, and facilitating clear direction, enabling, and inspiring leaders, and ensuring exceptional collaboration and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

The Manager is also responsible for the health and safety of staff and will ensure compliance with Department of Natural Resources and Renewables (NRR) Occupational Health and Safety program and policies.

**Qualifications and Experience**:
Bachelor's degree in a field related to natural resources plus several years progressive management experience or equivalent education and experience will be considered. Experience in parks and trails sector is considered an asset.
