Rail and Transit Market Sector Leader

Arcadis is seeking a Rail and Market Sector Leader to join our Mobility Global Business Area (GBA). This position can be based out of any of our Canadian offices.
Role accountabilities:
- Provide visionary leadership to align business goals with industry trends and emerging opportunities.
- Drive the strategy to expand our presence in the transit market and connect with new clients to build from our regional success in program, project, and construction management of large capital projects.
- Expand Rail and Multi-Modal Transit services with existing clients by leveraging our global expertise and talent across all areas of capital project planning, design, and delivery as well as professional consulting in support of asset management, and transition to fleet electrification.
- Focus on a client-centric approach and will:
- engage with clients directly and provide key understanding of their needs at all levels
- build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners.
- support teams to tailor solutions that best support our clients
- deliver sustainable solutions that exceed client expectations
- ensure high client satisfaction and repeat business.
- Lead and support key account managers for our transit clients in Canada.
- Collaborate with other sector leaders and business areas for cross-functional initiatives.
- Collaborate with Arcadis’ global solution leaders and global peers within the UK, Australia, Netherlands, Germany, France, and Belgium.
- Use market intelligence to inform decision-making and develop strategies for maintaining a competitive edge.
You will have excellent working relationships with and access to peers in the passenger rail, and rail and bus transit industry. You will have a deep understanding of the constantly evolving and dynamic transit industry in North America
**Qualifications**
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Systems Engineering, Transportation Planning, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience (20+ years) in a leadership role within the rail and multimodal transit sector.
- Strong business development skills and a track record of successfully winning and managing projects.
- In-depth knowledge of rail, transit, and multimodal transportation planning, design and construction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to align business goals with market opportunities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous leadership positions within public transit agencies
- Active leader within the American Public Transportation Association (APTA)
- Significant experience in understanding transit agency needs in delivering passenger rail, rail transit and high-capacity bus transit projects
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) license or relevant certifications preferred.
