**About Us**:
The Museum of Natural History, as it's known now, is responsible for the collecting and recording of artifacts of cultural significance to Nova Scotia as well as promoting Nova Scotia's natural landscape. Here at the Museum we house collections on Archeology, Ethnology, Mammals, Marine life and more.

**About Our Opportunity**:
The Interpretation Specialist administers the Museum’s interpretive collection and specimen loans, educational technology and on-line educational resources. In this role the Interpretation Specialist is responsible for the care and maintenance of museum specimens and artifacts for schools and other museum programs. In this position, you are accountable for the coordination of online educational resources including social media, as well as maintenance and program development using educational technologies, such as the Museum’s Science on a Sphere.

The Interpretation Specialist works with Naturalists and Curators to respond to public enquiries and requests for natural history information such as specimen identification. In this role you assist in promoting the Museum’s interpretive products and services and foster collaborative partnerships both inside and outside of government. You will be required to deliver and develop interpretive programs.

The Historical/Archival/Cultural Officer 1 (Interpretation Specialist) reports to the Curator of Interpretation.

**About You**:
You possess a Bachelors’ degree plus 3- years related experience. Education in biology, geology, archaeology/anthropology, botany, environmental science, or museum studies preferred.

**Working Conditions**:

- Ability to lift and move boxes up to 18kg, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time
- Hold a valid Nova Scotia Drivers Licence.
- Proficiency in French language is considered an asset.

**Salary Range**: $1,915.37 - $2,348.72 Bi-Weekly
