**Assistant Professor in infectiology of Gram-negative bacteria**

The FMV houses multiple research units, well-known for their collaborative networks, with researchers not only in
Quebec but also throughout Canada and internationally. Among these units is the Integrated Center for Infectious
Animal Diseases (CIMIA). CIMIA provides state-of-the-art laboratory spaces specializing in microbiology,
molecular biology, proteomics, histology and cellular biology. These labs meet NC-2 containment level standards
and are equipped with advanced instruments for flow cytometry, confocal, electronic, and super-resolution
microscopy, as well as bio-imaging of living organisms.

targeting Gram-negative bacteria relevant to animal production.

**As a professor, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the excellence of the Faculty of**
**Veterinary Medicine **

through your teaching to students and your research activities. You will also ensure the visibility of your
discipline in addition to actively participating in the operation of a renowned institution. As such, you will:
>** **Participate in the teaching of students enrolled in the Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine (DVM) program;
>** **Participate in the teaching and training of graduate students and the supervision of postdoctoral trainees;
>** **Develop an independent research program related to the position posted; interdisciplinary collaboration on

research projects is also encouraged;
>** **Participate in discipline outreach activities (publications, conferences, and others);
>** **Contribute to the maintenance and development of _Escherichia coli_ laboratory, a reference laboratory of the

World Organization for Animal Health (WOAH founded as OIE) for the diagnosis, surveillance and control of
this pathogen in animals, in which another professor also participates;
- ** **Contribute to the functioning of the institution.

**To succeed in this role, you’ll need**:
>** **Ph. D., postdoctoral experience, and a solid record of publications in the field of bacteriology with expertise

in the study of host-pathogen interactions and an interest in animal production;
- ** **Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree would be an asset;
>** **An adequate knowledge of the French written and spoken language or a strong commitment to mastering the

proficiency level required, in accordance with Université de Montréal’s Language Policy. An institutional
