Medicine program in Rimouski, located on the campus of the Université du Québec à Rimouski (UQAR). The
professor position is full-time and leads to tenure.

academic leadership to enhance and enrich this program. The appointment as an Assistant to the Associate Dean
of Academic and Student Affairs will begin upon taking office and will end on May 31, 2028, with the possibility of
renewal for a duration of five (5) years.

The position is located in Rimouski, a city of 50,000 inhabitants, the regional capital of Bas-Saint-Laurent, renowned
for its dynamism and quality of life. It brings together numerous educational institutions and has a high concentration
of researchers in fundamental and applied sciences, particularly in the field of marine sciences. Multiple
collaborations and services exist thanks, in particular, to the privileged partnership with the Université du Québec à
Rimouski and the Maurice Lamontagne Institute.

This position is at the heart of the FMV's objective to train the next generation of veterinary doctors and scientists
who are proficient in new technologies of fundamental and applied research and have an understanding of current
challenges in animal and human health.

**As a professor in the Department of Veterinary Biomedicine, you will have the opportunity to contribute**
**to the promotion of excellence in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine. In this role, you will:
- ** **Participate in teaching activities for students in the undergraduate Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program in
areas of expertise specific to the Department of Veterinary Biomedicine, such as macroscopic and
microscopic anatomy of different animal species, veterinary surgical anatomy, pharmacology, or veterinary
physiology;
- ** **Contribute to the teaching and training of graduate students (2nd and 3rd cycles) and postdoctoral trainees;
- ** **Develop an independent research program related to the activities of the department, the FMV, the Rimouski
region, or our partner, l’UQAR;
- ** **Participate in discipline-related outreach activities (publications, conferences, and others);
>** **Contribute to the functioning of the institution.

**As an Assistant to the Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs for the decentralized Doctor**
**of Veterinary Medicine program in Rimouski, in collaboration with the members of the Campus Saint-**
**Hyacinthe management team, you will:
**>** **Act as the person responsible for the decentralized Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program in Rimouski;
>** **Be responsible for managing human resources and support structures for teaching, research, and innovation;
>** **Establish mobilizing governance for strategic program development;
>** **Develop a culture of collaboration with members of the Université du Québec à Rimouski community, as well

as with private or public partners in the Rimouski region;
>** **Create environments that promote the growth, enhancement, and alignment of teaching, research, and

innovation activities.

**To succeed in this role, you must:
- ** **Hold a Ph.D. in a relevant field;
>** **Hold a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent (an asset);
>** **Have a proven track record of high-quality teaching;
>** **Possess a record of research and publications that demonstrates scientific and academic excellence;
>** **Have demonstrated abilities to work in a multidisciplinary team to develop research themes related to the

activities of the Department of Veterinary Biomedicine, the Faculty, or UQAR;
>** **Have a solid experience in management and leadership;
>** **Demonstrate the ability to work in a team and develop collaborations with department and faculty members;
>** **An adequate knowledge of the French written and spoken language **or** a strong commitment to mastering

the proficiency level required, in accordance to Université de Montréal’s Language Policy. An institutional

skills.
