The Université de Montréal Faculty of Music is looking to fill a part-time position of Assistant Professor in
from people generally underrepresented in the field of digital music.

**As a professor, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the excellence of your of the**
**Faculty of Music. Your mandate will include the following elements**:
The professor will involve him
- or herself in teaching digital music at the undergraduate and graduate levels
and will be required to supervise graduate students. Responsibilities encompass preparing students for
professional life, contributing to the discipline through works of artistic research, contributing to the
functioning and influence of the institution and the development of external partnerships. Duties also
comprise participating on jurys and developing study programs.

**any combination of these disciplines:
**

Experimental music for screen or video game; 

Electronic and/or electroacoustic music; 

Radio arts; 

Interdisciplinary sound arts.

**To succeed in this role, you’ll need: **

Have a doctorate or equivalent professional experience; 

Have relevant teaching experience at the university level; 

Have experience with financing structures in research/creation; 

Enjoy a career in creation recognized by peers; 

An adequate knowledge of the French written and spoken language **or** a strong commitment to

mastering the proficiency level required, in accordance to Université de Montréal’s Language

Policy. An institutional learning support program is offered to all professors wishing to learn French

or improve their communication skills.



A masterclass or a seminar with students from different levels; 

An interview with the selection committee; 

Recent recordings of their works; 

A presentation of roughly 20 minutes to the selection committee about their teaching methods and
their research approach.
