Reporting to the HR Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing the HCM system, managing disability claims, including WCB, supporting with the day-to-day HR matters including employment letters, employee relations, disciplinary actions, and investigations. In addition, you will build strong relationships with our company's managers in order to help them with their human resource needs.

**What you’ll do**:

- Provide support HR Manager in the day-to-day HR Matters (i.e. position and compensation letters, employee relations, disciplinary actions, investigations)
- Provide support and guidance to managers for the business unit on basic to intermediate employee relations issues including supporting and coaching managers through disciplinary measures and in the preparation and execution of terminations
- Participate in annual and bi-annual compensation cycle reviews (i.e. preparing reports, making recommendations, compiling letters, processing changes)
- Provide HR policy guidance, interpretation and compliance and manages risk for the business unit
- Collaborate with managers on workforce planning and employee development
- Oversee the HCM system, including proper documentation of employee files, troubleshooting and responding to manager or employee inquiries
- Support company Health and Safety processes and initiatives including WCB claim management
- Conduct exit interviews, analyze results, and present aggregated trends to senior leadership
- Participate in the review and redevelopment of HR policies, processes, and programs, and work closely with managers and supervisors to ensure policies are adhered to
- Compile and provide monthly reporting, organizational charts and ad hoc employee stats
- Oversee short
- and long-term disability claims, support HR Business Partners in the return-to-work program, and liaise with the H&S department on WCB claims
- Responsible for processing invoices related to the HCM, benefits and employee relations
- Responsible for business unit and implementing better people management strategies
- Develop relationship building skills to quickly establish trust and credibility
- Effectively manage multiple priorities with a consistent record of delivering on-time, high quality results
- Assist in the embedding of the organizational culture by supporting employee engagement events and celebrations

**What you'll need**:

- Post-secondary education preferably in Human Resources
- 3-4 years of experience in a human resources related position
- Experience using an enterprise-scale Human Capital Management System (HCMS) considered an asset
- Experience with communication and interpersonal skills to approach difficult conversations with managers and/or employees.
- Proficiency using the MS Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
- Knowledge of employment legislation across provinces, privacy and human rights
