The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for assisting in all Human Resource (HR) functions within the organization. This position liaises with Directors, Program Managers, Coordinators, and employees.

**Responsibilities**:

- Providing support to all levels of employees in regards to any problem solving or crisis management issues.
- Maintaining all statistics and data as required.
- Representing Human Resources on various committees.
- Attend hosted career fairs and lead Excel Society’s job fairs.
- Provide new hire information and ensure new hires are scheduled for mandatory training as per our policy and procedure.
- Advising supervisors and managers on recruitment issues.
- Close all job competitions and add information for annual statistics.
- Responding to all employee relation issues and ensuring all Employment Standards and Human Rights Regulations are adhered to.
- Assisting benefit processing for illness, injury, and/or long-term claims.
- Respond to employees, with consultation of supervisor, any modified duties.
- Reconciling payroll deductions for benefit coverage and payments to benefits provider in conjunction with Junior HR Generalist.
- Review and provide feedback for non-supervisory employee’s performance correction notices.
- Support supervisors with progressive discipline process.
- Advising supervisors and managers on employee relations issues in consultation with HR Manager and the Director.

**Requirements**:

- University Degree in Human Resources or Business. Equivalences will be considered with a University Degree and progressive Human Resources experience.
- CPHR Designation required.
- Satisfactory criminal record check
- Knowledge of Employment Standards and Employment Law.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent problem solving, time management, planning, organization, and communication skills.
- Professional and confidential in all respects.
- Self-directed, action-oriented, and innovative with exceptional ability to influence, motivate and develop people.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities as asset.

- Bachelor's Degree (required)

**Experience**:

- Human resources: 4 years (preferred)
