**JOB STATEMENT**:
We are building our Learning and Development Team and looking for a dynamic Learning Specialist. Reporting to the Manager, Learning and Development and working in a fast-paced environment, the L&D Specialist will be responsible for content creation, develop and delivery of engaging learning experiences through a variety of training tools and resources to both internal and external clients on both MFDA/IIROC platforms.
**LOCATION**: Markham, ON (Hybrid)
**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
- Analyze training needs, design, develop and deliver online learning experiences
- Foster creativity and innovation in development, design and delivery of learning products including e-learning instructional videos, facilitation of webinars, and exploration of new and creative ways to support our network of Advisors and Assistants.
- Explore new and creative ways to train our business partners that identify and optimize synergies
- Develop and maintain business procedures (guides, cheat sheets, videos, infographics job aides).
- Provide expertise in adapting current curricula to alternative delivery channels such as e-learning, self-study packages, virtual, etc.
- Adapt instructional materials created for one format to another format (for example, adapting materials designed for instructor-led training to e-learning)
- Incorporate methods to measure learner comprehension and course effectiveness.
- Maintain standards, best practices and templates utilized in the development of training materials
- Active participant in the annual review of training content on the portal and suggesting updates;
- Analyzing, researching and responding to inquiries in a proactive manner;
- Performing other duties as assigned.
- Travel may be required up to 10% within Canada
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- In-depth knowledge of instructional design principles and learning theories with experience in designing and developing interactive and engaging e-learning content
- Strong technical skills and the ability to manage technical glitches and train around them
- Experience in delivering and/or moderating live and virtual training sessions
- College or University degree preferred with education in adult learning, technical, and communication or organization development
- Experience in planning lessons and course curriculum
- Ability to work independently, know when to seek help while effectively collaborating with various stakeholders
- Familiarity with content development tools (Ex. Word, PowerPoint, SnagIT, Camtasia, Articulate Storyline, Captivate, Photoshop, Illustrator, WordPress) or other LMS solutions and video editing tools
- MFDA or IIROC experience in the investment industry an asset
- Effective management of projects, timelines and priorities
- Strong customer focus and strong professional acumen
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and strong organizational and listening skills
- Familiarity with the Dataphile is an asset
- Bi-lingual is an asset
**COMPENSATION**:
Commensurate with experience
