Learning and Development Specialist

**Job Description**:
As a member of the Learning and Development team, the successful Learning and Development Specialist will be responsible for creating and designing ILT/v-ILT training courses (and programs), developing eLearning courses (with interactive elements), facilitating workshops (ILT and/or v-ILT), and evaluating the effectiveness of educational initiatives. Overall, the Specialist, will be responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating training programs for team members across our organization. This role requires the ability to collaborate with stakeholders (from various different departments and business teams), to identify training needs and to develop effective learning solutions to address those needs.- Designs and implements effective, and engaging training programs using a variety of delivery methods (e.g., instructor-led, eLearning, job aids, virtual, assessments, infographics, etc.).- Supports in creating an active learning environment to all virtual instructor-led learning courses, incorporating gamification and interactivity into the instructor-led environment.- Facilitate engaging training sessions, workshops for employees at all levels, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques to accommodate different learning styles.- Designs and develops interactive online courses (aka eLearning) using a variety of multimedia elements (including but not limited to rich multimedia, audio, video, graphics, illustrations, animations, infographics, etc.), and runs quality assurance testing on all the digital resources prior to launch.-
- Applies creative thinking and domain expertise to the development of innovative training programs.- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through assessments, surveys, and other feedback mechanisms, making adjustments as necessary to improve outcomes and ensure objectives are met- Researches and incorporates best practices on adult learning and educational technologies to support training efforts- Stays up to date with industry trends and best practices related to learning and development, Learning Management Systems, etc.- Recommends technology tools and platforms to support overall learning objectives.- Demonstrates an energetic attitude and facilitation skills to present information using a variety of instructional techniques and formats to enhance learning
**Requirements**:
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in Adult Education, Instructional Design, Human Resources (specialized in training and development), Psychology, or a related field- CTP Qualified/CTDP or equivalent designation is an asset-
- Proven knowledge/experience of working with different Learning Management systems is a must. Experience with Workday Learning is an asset- Experience designing, developing, and/or implementing eLearning courses, and interactive web-based and instructor-led resources in an adult education environment is a must.- Proficient using Articulate 360 as an instructional design tool, including experience using some other tools such as Captivate, Camtasia, Vyond, etc. is definitely an asset.- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 tools is an asset- Experience using Canva, and Adobe Creative Cloud products such as Illustrator, Photoshop is an asset- Experience developing materials for Workday or a similar ERP system implementation is also an asset- Travel would be required to long term care locations occasionally- Proven ability to manage various projects at a given time, and meet deadlines, accurately estimating time required for deliverables- Flexible team player able to work both independently and collaboratively- Demonstrated creativity skills, and willingness to learn
