**_ Tax Services Associate Co-op_**

**How does the role impact the organization?**

This is a temporary full-time position from January - April 2025.

**What will your role be responsible for?**
- Prepare income tax returns and tax-related working papers and support for personal, corporate and/or trust returns;
- Provide assistance in the process of updating various documents needed for the tax season;
- Take ownership of files assigned and manage completion from start to finish;
- Provide assistance in file administration;
- Provide assistance in the electronic filing process;
- Provide assistance to other Tax team members as needed; and
- Effectively communicate with team members regarding progress updates and issues on an ongoing basis.

**What do we expect from you?**

**_ To qualify for this opportunity you possess:_**

**Knowledge of**
- Fundamental investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the securities industry; and
- Canadian personal taxation is an asset.

**Skill in**
- Customer service; and
- Organization, multi-tasking and working with deadlines.

**Ability to**
- Learn quickly;
- Work within deadlines in a high-volume and demanding environment while maintaining a high level of service and attention to detail;
- Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment;
- Demonstrate a professional manner to establish and maintain effective working relationships;
- Exercise tact and discretion in the handling of confidential information; and
- Communicate proficiently in French is an asset.

**Educational/Previous Experience Requirements**
- Current enrolment in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Accounting or Finance;
- Accounting industry or Tax experience is an asset;
- Experience with Taxprep is an asset; and
- Previous client service experience is an asset.
