The Multifaith team develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote a deeper sense of belonging and advances the University’s Strategic Framework, Equity Action Plan, and Indigenous Action Plan.

**_This position is Monday thru Friday 8:30 - 4:30pm._**

**The salary range for this position is**:
**Recruitment range: $58,368- $64,339 **starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.

**Performance range: starting salary to max of $75,878** is available through annual performance increases.
- Job SummaryThe Multifaith Program Coordinator reports to Manager, Health Promotion and Education. The Multifaith Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, supporting, assessing, and organizing campus wide programs, events, and initiatives that support the spiritual health and wellbeing of students. The Multifaith Program Coordinator is responsible for advancing UVic’s rich communal traditions, intersections of identity, multifaith literacy, community building and dialogue, and intellectual/spiritual growth. As well as building collaboration with local faith communities and volunteers under the direction of Supervisor., promotes wellness through best practices in student development theory and practice to build a just, sustainable, and humane world.

The Multifaith Program Coordinator supports, plans, and develop wellness activities and events in a targeted manner, which constitute high-quality, high-impact student experiences, with the goal of advancing educational equity and inclusion, while recognizing the diverse realities and complexities that comprise UVic Student identity in greater Victoria, British Columbia, Canada, and in the global context - inclusive of culture, religion, and nationality. As well as make appropriate referrals to relevant resources on campus, serve as an advisory in navigating campus processes/procedures, and recommend actions for institutional/systemic change as warranted, based on patterns in student reporting.
- Job RequirementsThis position requires a level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree, plus a minimum of 3 years relevant experience, preferably in a post-secondary education setting. An equivalent combination of educational training and experience may be considered.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities include:

- Understanding and awareness of colonial history and the impacts of colonization on spirituality, well-being, particularly for Indigenous peoples, as well as the connections between colonial systems and postsecondary education structures.
- Experience working with individuals of diverse faiths/spiritual life in the areas of program development, coordination, and student support related services.
- Knowledge of current and historical provincial, national, and global multifaith and spiritual life initiatives.
- Proven ability to foster intragroup community among individuals with diverse backgrounds and intersections of identity.
- Commitment to religious pluralism and inclusion of/engagement with myriad faith identities, expressions, and spiritual exploration.
- Skills related to working independently and as a member of a team, cultivating an inclusive, diverse, and welcoming environment.
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build and support collaborative working relationships with campus stakeholders, including a diverse range of students.
- Knowledge of budget development, implementation, and financial management practices.

Assets and Preferences:

- Relevant experience in post-secondary education, student support services, religion, theology, counseling, education and/or related field.
- Knowledge and background in holistic health practices that support and promote well-being, healing, harmony, and balance.
- Trauma and violence informed practice.
- Knowledge of equitable assessment principles and practices including evaluative tools and disaggregated data analysis.
- Certified Spiritual Care Practitioner.
- Proficiency in graphic and web design.
