Role Overview:


Under the direction of the Manager of Supportive Recovery this role provides leadership to the overall Supportive Recovery Program and employees in the absence of the Program Manager.

The Program Coordinator will also provide in-the-moment guidance regarding youth case plans, program delivery, and crisis management while supporting the team with youth recovery plans and collaborative case management processes.

Additionally, the Program Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Program Manager and cover On Call support to the program Friday to Monday.

The schedule is Friday - Monday, 9-hour afternoon shifts, a specific schedule to be determined with the Program Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate response and management of crisis situations when Program Manager is not present
  • Provide on call coverage on weekends and when the Program Manager is off
  • Facilitate activities, as well as life skill and recovery groups
  • Actively ensure that youth are engaged and connected to Threshold programming and supports within the Supported Recovery Program
  • Ensure smooth functioning of program by maintaining house supplies, groceries, budgets and petty cash
  • Assist with coordinating staff schedule, ensuring fulsome coverage for all shifts and program functions
  • In coordination with the Program Manager, support the hiring and onboarding processes including conducting interviews, reference checks, and training
  • Ensure onsite alignment with licensing standards and program policies
  • Ensuring Occupational Health and Safety requirements for the program are met and communicated
  • Keep abreast of all current social concerns and youth issues, and as required attend professional development activities to remain informed regarding issues for atrisk youth and up to date best Practices in Youth Recovery Programming
  • Other duties as assigned by the Program Manager

Education & Experience

  • Undergraduate or Master's degree in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, or a related field
  • Preference will be given to those with a master's degree and a clinical background
  • 2+ years of management experience overseeing programs or services within the nonprofit sector. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience facilitating groups and coordinating group events
  • Theoretical and working knowledge of harm reduction, traumainformed, and Housing First principles and practices
  • Knowledge of current best practices and experience in public and mental health
  • Content expertise about youth homelessness and youth recovery

Working conditions

  • Fulltime permanent position (36 hours per week)
  • Friday to Monday, 9 hour afternoon shifts, hours to be discussed with successful applicant
  • Oncall duties required Friday to Monday with further compensation for additional time worked, and occasional coverage for Program Manager holidays
  • Operates out of the Supportive Recovery Program location
