The Local Government Management Association of British Columbia (LGMA), located on the traditional territories of the lək̓wəŋən Peoples, known today as the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations in Victoria, BC. The LGMA is an independent non-profit organization that has been providing professional development and training for local government professionals across B.C. for over 100 years. We are looking for a highly organized, customer-service oriented individual with exceptional coordination skills to join our team This is a 35 hour per week position.

The key responsibilities of the Program Coordinator position include:

Managing registrations and creating attendee lists, monitoring program evaluations, and providing related technical and administrative support.Providing technical and administrative support in the administration of online and on-demand courses utilizing Moodle, Zoom, and other platforms, including securing meetings and webinars, Moodle enrollment, monitoring, content revisions, and completion tracking.Providing administrative support to the Association, including preparation and distribution of various mail-outs, scheduling of meetings, drafting routine and non-routine business correspondence.Addressing phone and email inquiries from LGMA members, partners, suppliers, related organizations, and the general public and developing positive external relationships and resolving complaints/issues with minimal inconvenience to the client.Coordinating the distribution of LGMA manuals and resources materials, and delivery of services to members.Representing the LGMA at events as required and providing attendee liaison and support, ensuring smooth event operations, and contributing to the success of LGMA's professional development and training opportunities.Providing administrative and technical communications support for a variety of membership, communications, marketing, and digital media tasks.Providing relief support for the scheduling of pre-established social media and promotional content, as required.Assisting with outreach and organization of materials for the quarterly magazine and supporting the cataloging video content, as required.Other duties as assigned or required, based on operational requirements.
QualificationsPost-secondary training in Office or Business Administration, or related trainingA minimum of 3 years' experience working in an office setting.An equivalent combination of education and experience would be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to:Proficiently use the technology inherent of the work including Office 365, website and mail management systems, databases, PowerPoint, online meeting platforms such as Zoom, and Moodle or other learning management systems.Skillfully communicate in writing and orally.Research and analyze issues and identify solutions.Provide top-notch customer service.Support project or program teams.
Knowledge of local government operations and the local government system in BC is an asset.

The LGMA is mandated by its constitution to deliver professional development and training to local government staff members across British Columbia. Because we are a small team and all staff are expected to be available to support the delivery of in-person programming that are subject to the Provincial Health Orders for in-person events, and reflective of the possibility of vaccination passport requirements being reinstated by Public Health Orders, eligible applicants will be asked to show proof of vaccination or proof of medical exemption during the recruitment process.

The compensation range for this position is $45.03 /hour ($81,955 annually) in addition to a comprehensive benefit package and flexible working hours.
