Land Administrator

SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Land Administrator performs duties associated with the acquisition, registration and payment of land rights required by, and to protect the interest of, the Corporation. This includes performing a variety of administrative duties associated with department activities.
Position Details- Union - This position is permanent full time.
Core Responsibilities
Subdivision Applications-
- Monitor and track outstanding survey plans and coordinate with various internal and external groups and stakeholders as required to ensure they are completed and registered and/or filed in a timely manner.
Document Preparation and Registration- Collaborate with external parties (such as Surveyors, City and Town Officials, Developers, Legal Offices, First Nations, SaskTel and SaskPower) for the preparation of easements, plans and other documents.- Prepare legal documents, including contracts, permits and agreements necessary for the acquisition of land acquire land rights and arrange for document registration.- Act as Commissioner of Oaths for the completion of legal documents.- Prepare and administer Treaty Land Entitlement replacement agreements.- Monitor registered financial interests to impacted properties and obtain necessary clearance from such interest holders prior to financial payouts pursuant to The Public Utilities Easements Act (Saskatchewan).- Assist with supporting the development and maintenance of various internal process improvement initiatives.
Agreements and Easement Rights- Interact with internal departments (such as Engineering, Environment and Legal) to coordinate the acquisition of agreements for land rights.- Assist in Public Awareness administration and related document maintenance.- Coordinate with landowners to obtain easement rights to protect the interest of the corporation.
Customer Service- Respond appropriately to external inquiries from customers, developers, law firms and realtor’s and direct such external inquiries to other internal work groups where necessary.- Articulate and communicate accurate information pertaining to corporate assets and operation practices when interacting with external parties including lawyers, property owners or companies.

Qualifications- Certificate in Land Administration, Business Administration or Paralegal Certificate.- Eligible for appointment as a Commissioner of Oaths.- Pre-Qualifying Assessment.
OR- Grade 12 or equivalent.- Three (3) years’ experience working with a Customer Information or Dispatch system, or in land or property administration or in the operation/administration of natural gas systems, system design, construction, or pipeline integrity.- Eligible for appointment as a Commissioner of Oaths.- Pre-Qualifying Assessment.
Non-Optional Requirements- Employees hired without the Land Administration Certificate are required to complete the Certificate within two years of date of hire. The Certificate is required to progress through the pay steps.
Additional Information- Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters, is required on occasion.
