Job Summary:
Administrative responsibilities:

- Managing inventory and placing orders for food, as well as hospital and office supplies
- Processing incoming and outgoing mail and shipments
- Managing and processing orders for our online vet store
- Answering and directing phone calls in a professional and courteous manner (in a backup capacity to the receptionist)
- Keeping track of accounts receivables and outstanding invoices
- Finding and solving accounting errors and financial discrepancies using standard accounting principals
- Cash management and safekeeping
- Providing general administrative support as needed

Social media responsibilities:

- Managing the clinic’s social media accounts (Facebook & Instagram) including monitoring comments and messages, and responding in a timely and professional manner
- Creating engaging and informative content for our social media channels
- Collaborating with our marketing and communications team for special projects and focus months
- Staying up-to-date with the latest social media trends and best practices, and providing recommendations for new platforms or strategies that can benefit our business

**Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or a related field is an asset
- Proven experience as an administrative assistant, or in a similar role
- Understanding of basic accounting principals
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Experience with graphic design and editing tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
- Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong writing skills and ability to create engaging and informative content
- Passion for animals and the veterinary industry
- Experience managing social media accounts for businesses or organizations is preferred but not required
