**The Opportunity**

This position is responsible for executing core elements of the business unit Risk Management Framework and Management of Audit Engagements on behalf of the GWAM Retirement Operations Business. The incumbent will also help ensure that the business understands its risks and has robust standards, controls and practices in place to mitigate these risks which could impact its ability to achieve its strategic objectives. **Responsibilities**
- Execute core elements of the business unit Risk Management Framework.
- Assist business with corrective action plans (“CAPs”) including initial development of CAPs, monitoring and reporting on potential slippage and review of evidence prior to closure.
- Support business through life cycle of an internal audit by completing self-identification exercises, attending walk throughs, understanding issues and developing value added CAPs to mitigate risk.
- Consult on projects and business changes that may impact key risks or internal controls to ensure that our risk profile is not negatively impacted while balancing the goal of being ‘easy to do business with.’
- Perform/lead risk control assessments utilizing process documentation/analysis techniques and provide business recommendations on opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain awareness of risk and control issues within the business / function whether self-identified or from internal /external audit.
- Understand the area’s Key Risk & Performance Indicators, and other controls to identify negative trends and potential control gaps.
- Maintain strong business relationships with internal business and functional support areas, internal audit, second line risk partners and develop and deliver presentations to senior audiences. Participate in various meetings related to operational risk and control matters.

**What we are looking for**
- Familiar with audit methodologies and internal control systems
- Knowledge of risk management tools/platforms
- Working knowledge of retirement plan services operations
- Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) MBA, other graduate degree or advanced studies (including industry risk certifications) and/or Recognized accounting (CPA) or auditing (CIA, CISA) designation preferred.
