Senior Risk Management Specialist

Overview:
At Company 1 - The Manufacturers Life Insurance Company, we are seeking a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our team as a Senior Risk Management Specialist - Operations. This role is a key part of our Operational Risk Management Framework, focusing on identifying, capturing, and articulating key risks.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will represent Canada Operations in the execution of the core components of our Operational Risk Management Framework. They will work closely with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to identify and mitigate risks, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute core elements of the Operational Risk Management Framework
- Project Risk Assessments: Lead on projects and business changes that may impact key risks or internal controls in Canada Operations
- Incidents and Reportable Events: Conduct root cause analysis for operational risk incidents/errors and document opportunities to implement new preventive and detective controls
- Corrective Action Plans (CAPs): Support Business Units with remediation of Corrective Action Plans, including proactive monitoring of CAP status and evidence gathering
- Maintain awareness of risk and control issues, updating the controls inventory within the business/function
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or industry certificate in operational risk
- 5-7 years of related experience with strong knowledge of business processes, risks, and controls
- Experience leading high-performing teams, including coaching and developing people
- Knowledge of insurance, group benefits, affinity, and contact centers operations is a plus
- Familiarity with Archer record creation, maintenance, and reporting is a plus
What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary range of $83,350 CAD - $145,375 CAD, depending on location and relevant job-related factors. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
