York Hyperbaric Medicine Centre provides hyperbaric oxygen treatments for a variety of conditions for Newmarket and Brampton.

We are seeking a Hyperbaric Patient Coordinator who is fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese for a Full Time position.

As a Hyperbaric Patient Coordinator, you will be joining a team of compassionate health care providers seeking to positively impact the patients’ quality of life throughout their healing journey. You will answer to the Clinic Manager and Safety Director.

The Hourly compensation starts at $18-$20. The Hyperbaric Patient Coordinator will ultimately transition to the Hyperbaric Chamber Operator role if performance indicates. The transition will include a performance based raise.

A BACKGROUND IN HEALTHCARE OR DIVING IS PREFERRED

Details of the Position:

- Obtaining Vital Signs of Patients
- Blood Glucose Monitoring
- Translating Mandarin and Cantonese for our Staff and Patients
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the policies and procedures of Hyperbaric Medicine
- Assisting in Hyperbaric Treatment and Monitoring
- Complete and Maintain Patient Treatment/Diagnostic Records
- Educate patient and/or patient's family as to the benefits, risks, contraindications, and safety issues of hyperbaric oxygen therapy before treatment
- Clean and maintain the equipment according to Infection Control Standards
- Maintain continuous Quality Improvement Duties and Chart Audits.
- Perform an inventory check, and maintain a record of supplies and laundry items
- Maintain equipment and check backup air and oxygen supplies on a daily basis
- Consult with the Safety Director and Hyperbaric Physician regarding any adverse reactions
- Assist the day-to-day activities of a medical clinic
- Communicate with patients using empathy, understanding and respect
- Performs other duties as assigned

You will be assisting in administering hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients of the Hyperbaric Medicine Center under the supervision of a Hyperbaric Physician and Safety Director. All therapeutic and diagnostic modalities will be ordered by the hyperbaric physician.

TRAINING WILL BE PROVIDED.

**Requirements**:

- Fluent in Mandarin and Cantonese
- High school diploma or equivalent required.

Health Care Background preferred, but not required.

Experience in Diving or training as a Hyperbaric Chamber Operator is preferred, but not required.

**Salary**: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
