**Banquet Supervisor**

The Banquet Supervisor is a leadership role within the Sales & Conference Services department. This individual will be responsible for all aspects of on-site events. The Banquet Supervisor will also provide support with respect to training and development of banquet employees as well as guest recovery situations.

**Responsibilities**
- Provide leadership support to Banquets team while overseeing all on-site events.
- Review and clearly understand the Banquet Event Order (BEO) and requirements of the event.
- Ensure the function space is set up according to the client's specifications. Monitor the event timeline to ensure each phase progresses as planned.
- Monitor banquet team members and coach them on proper service style and standards at all times during events.
- Oversee and assist in the set up, tear down, and clean up of all events. Make necessary adjustments to maintain a positive guest experience. Ensure all SOPs are followed.
- Review BEO with kitchen lead prior to event start to confirm details and ensure timely meal service.
- Conduct pre-event staff meeting to brief the team on their roles and responsibilities. Monitor and assist in all events set up, tear down and clean up.
- Respond to any concerns and complaint as they arise.
- Ring all catering items into Silverware and accurately cash-out events at the end of the night.
- Review alcohol inventory sheet, bar spill log, pass-on report and SOP check list before releasing staff.
- Oversee cleanliness of event spaces, service areas and banquet storage. Create & enforce weekly & monthly cleaning checklists.
- Assist the Banquet Manager to ensure the inventory of glassware, alcohol, beverages, equipment and supplies is tracked appropriately and maintained.
- Provide direction, guidance and leadership in the absence of the Banquet Manager.Be the face of Oak Bay Beach Hotel for hotel led event

**Qualifications**
- Previous leadership experience required
- Previous hotel food/beverage/bar experience is required for this opportunity.
- Previous banquet experience in a luxury resort environment required
- Friendly and confident and professional appearance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Comprehensive knowledge of set-ups, event space and functionality
- Reliable and flexible to varied shifts or as needed. Weekend work required
- Computer knowledge is essential.

**Physical Aspects of Position**:

- Continuous walking, bending and lifting up to 50lbs
- Use of cleaning machines and solutions will be required

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $24.28 per hour
