Job Summary

AccorHotel is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director Event Operations Banquets to join our team. As a key member of our events team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our banquet department, including managing on-the-floor staff, reviewing banquet event orders, and assessing procedures and policies to ensure optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the daily operation of the banquet department, including supervising on-the-floor staff and reviewing banquet event orders.
  • Assess procedures and policies to ensure optimal performance and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Monitor productivity, revenues, and costs to ensure the financial success of the department.
  • Ensure all financial reporting is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Build relationships with the Conference Services Department and other Food & Beverage departments to ensure a common vision and direction.
  • Develop and maintain a safety culture within the department and ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards.
  • Participate in the budgeting process and establish clear priorities for operational expenditures.
  • Coach and train the Event leadership team in all aspects of the department, monitoring their development and providing critical feedback and performance reviews.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in Hospitality or Food and Beverage Management.
  • Minimum two years of experience in Food and Beverage Supervisor and/or Management position.
  • Supervisory/management experience in a banquet facility is an asset.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and overnight shifts.
  • Must be a highly organized individual with the ability to handle numerous tasks at any time.
  • Must have strong proven leadership qualities and management skills.
  • Must have proven departmental scheduling and operational productivity.
  • Previous experience working in a unionized environment is considered a strong asset.
Physical Aspects of Position
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Frequent ascending or descending ladders, stairs, and ramps.
  • Occasional bending and kneeling.
  • Occasional carrying and lifting up to 20lbs.
