- AltaPro’s Safety Manager reports to Chief Operating Officer and will work closely with our Human Resources and Operations in playing an integral role in the success of the safety of our employees, subcontractors, and clients. **Skills and Knowledge**:

- NCSO designation or equivalent, with current ACSA COR auditor
- Current Standard First Aid
- Ability to work independently, maintaining an organized environment within tight deadlines
- Must be flexible, position requires adaptability
- Ability to effectively present safety meetings & speak publicly
- Experience in the Commercial construction industry. Electrical background an asset
- Excellent computer skills. Proficient in Microsoft office. Bistrainer experience an asset
- Effective communication skills - oral and written. Ability to effectively communicate with various trades & disciplines
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment including Estimating, Project Management, Purcahsing, Shipping/Receiving, Employees, Subcontractors, Vendors, Consultants and Clients

**Job Summary**:

- Responsible for all aspects of the AltaPro Safety Program
- Encourages and promotes a safe work culture, with a positive attitude and team approach
- Maintain COR certification and everything required to do so, including internal and external audits
- Maintain AltaPro’s electronic safety management system
- Manage claims and pull clearance letters for new projects using WCB account
- Monitor and facilitate safety and project-related training and retraining
- Assist project managers with project safety plans and pre-job hazard assessments, which entails an understanding of the project’s scope of work and safety requirements
- Assist with scheduling preventative maintenance on equipment
- Manage and maintain various compliance accounts
- Present monthly safety meeting in the office
- Review project contracts for quality control requirements
- Review and collaborate on RFP’s and proposals
- Strategize and develop training for successful auditing processes internally and externally
- Develop and maintain cost control strategies and planning to meet financial targets
- Manage and organize purchases in an effective and timely manner.
- Prepare, coordinate, and manage communications with proper document control
- Track and maintain budget expenses for materials and labor
- Efficiently follow up on requests, demands, questions or concerns with applicable stakeholders

**Requirements**:

- Secondary School (preferred)
- NCSO designation or equivalent, with current ACSA COR auditor abilities
- 5+ years’ experience as a NCSO (preferred)
- Full knowledge of latest industry standards
- 3+ Commercial Electrical experience an asset
