We are looking for a full time Health and Safety Assistant to work with our team to assist with the implementation and continual improvement of the company’s Health and Safety Program. This is an entry level position with hourly pay, opportunities for overtime and a medical benefit program.

Sulzer Chemtech Canada is the Canadian Tower Field Service division of the Sulzer company, a global leader in fluid engineering and headquartered in Switzerland since 1834, and the Tower Field Service division has been operating in Canada since 2010. Our services provided to customer sites include installation, removal and maintenance of distillation tower internal components and weld repair of pressure and non-pressure vessels in the oil & gas, carbon capture, energy production and alcohol production industries.

Primary duties will include, but are not limited to:

- Compiling, creating, reviewing and organizing of safety documentation
- Providing instruction on and high level maintenance of safety equipment
- Annual inspections of safety equipment
- Maintenance of SDS files
- Maintenance of online contractor compliance websites (ISNetworld, Avetta, Complyworks)
- Conduct annual orientations and safety trainings
- Conduct annual internal COR audit
- Conduct respirator fit testing
- Data entry and tracking of KPI’s
- Occasional travel to customer sites
- Worksite inspections and monthly maintenance of emergency response equipment
- Attend, facilitate and/ or participate in safety meetings
- Assisting field staff with safety related information and resources

Desired Skills:

- Strong organization skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in verbal and written communication
- Highly motivated and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work well in a team and receive feedback positively.
- Effective time management
- Well versed knowledge of Alberta OH&S legislation
- Must be willing to travel when required.
- Valid driver’s license is considered an asset

Qualifications:

- Completion of a OH&S related post-secondary program required
- Possession of the following current and valid safety tickets is considered an asset:

- Energy Safety Canada Confined Space Entry and Monitor
- Energy Safety Canada Fall Protection
- Energy Safety Canada H2S Alive
- St. John or Red Cross Standard First Aid
- Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
- Construction Safety Training System (CSTS)

**Salary**: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
