**CRITERIA FOR AN INTERVIEW ARE AS FOLLOWS**:
Post-secondary degree/diploma in Building Science technology or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Minimum of four (4) years of related experience, at a management level, in mechanical, electrical/HVAC engineering field preferably with a facility management organization, a mechanical construction firm or mechanical consulting firm

Membership with the appropriate professional association an asset

Experience in managing multi-building portfolio is preferred

Management experience in a unionized environment

Current experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) an asset

Knowledge of relevant government regulations and codes

An understanding of contract administration including the tendering process

Proven problem-solving techniques to troubleshoot and respond to facility emergency technical issues

Strong analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills

Proven ability to work under pressure with multiple deadlines

Advanced computer skills in MS Office products; knowledge and competence with respect to computerized maintenance management systems; use of SAP or an equivalent financial information system

Proven ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders for service delivery including but not limited to school communities, school administrators, senior staff, consultants

**MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Reporting to and under the direction of Superintendent of Environmental Support Services, the Manager will be accountable for the effective direction and co-ordination of construction, renovation and maintenance of school facilities and grounds. Duties and responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
Provide direction and leadership to the Maintenance staff within the TCDSB, including the resolution of labour relations issues

Prepare yearly plans with targets for expenditures and facility repairs, maintenance service contracts based on allocated funds

Prepare/develop regular performance metrics (KPIs) and reporting for use in the planning and scheduling of Preventative Maintenance (PM) programs.

Liaise with the Senior Coordinator of Innovation and Service Delivery and assist with providing recommendations for policies, procedures, guidelines and business processes for the department

Liaise with the Senior Coordinator of Innovation and Service Delivery and assist with the ongoing development, implementation and evaluation of performance management programs and activities for supervisory and Maintenance staff

Oversee the management of multiple maintenance contracts such as Preventative Maintenance (PM) Mechanical and Electrical Contracts, Water Treatment Contract, Fire Alarm Inspection Contract, etc.

Availability to work outside core office hours, as required

Other duties as assigned.

**NOTE**:
This position requires travelling to TCDSB sites on a regular basis. The incumbent must have own vehicle available to use and a valid Ontario driver’s license (eligibility for mileage reimbursement). Requires wearing of appropriate and current safety equipment (safety shoes, hard hat) for TCDSB construction sites. This position requires the incumbent to travel within designated geographical area, to be occasionally on-call beyond normal work hours, to respon
